After two years of collaboration, research, educational development, and awareness raising, partners of the Fight Against Love Scam (FaLS) project gathered together one final time in Amsterdam on May 29th to deliver community activities, reflect on the project journey, and officially finalize the project together. The mobility marked both the conclusion of the project and an important opportunity to bring its results directly to local communities.

The final mobility brought together representatives from all project partners:

  • European Center for Researching, Education and Consulting (ECREC) – Netherlands

  • EUth Wonders e.V. – Germany

  • Igor Vitale International – Italy

Together, the partnership reviewed project achievements, discussed sustainability and future dissemination, and most importantly, engaged directly with the local community around one increasingly important topic: online love scams.

Bringing Awareness to the Local Community

A central component of the mobility was the delivery of a community training session focused on recognizing, understanding, and preventing online romance fraud.

Love scams continue to affect thousands of people globally, often targeting individuals through social media platforms, dating websites, and messaging applications. These scams are particularly harmful because they combine emotional manipulation with financial exploitation, often leaving victims with both financial losses and emotional consequences. The Fight Against Love Scam project was created specifically to address these challenges through education, prevention, and accessible learning resources.

During the training activities, participants explored:

  • Common warning signs of online love scams

  • Psychological manipulation techniques used by scammers

  • How scammers build trust and emotional dependency

  • Practical methods for verifying online identities

  • How to support friends or family members who may be vulnerable

  • Strategies for safer online communication and digital wellbeing

The sessions encouraged active participation, discussions, and reflection around how easily manipulation can occur online and why increasing digital literacy remains essential for communities of all ages.

From Project Results to Real Community Impact

The mobility served as an opportunity to showcase the resources created throughout the project, including educational materials, training approaches, and digital learning outputs designed to help individuals better recognize and respond to fraudulent online relationships.

Throughout the discussions, partners reflected on the importance of continuing conversations around loneliness, digital safety, emotional vulnerability, and online trust.

Finalizing the Project Together

The Amsterdam mobility also marked the final opportunity for partners to work together in person before concluding the project.

Partners used the meeting to finalize administrative activities, review dissemination efforts, evaluate project impact, discuss sustainability strategies, and celebrate the successful completion of the collaboration.

While this mobility marked the end of the project timeline, it does not mark the end of its impact. The resources, partnerships, and educational tools created through Fight Against Love Scam will continue supporting communities, educators, and individuals in building safer digital spaces and increasing resilience against online manipulation.

As the project comes to a close, we would like to thank all partners, participants, and community members who contributed throughout the journey.

Because protecting people online begins with helping them recognize when something doesn’t feel right. ❤️
