On 5 June 2026, community members, artists, participants, and local residents gathered in Bonn to celebrate the unveiling of a new collaborative graffiti mural created as part of the A Million Voices project.

Located in the underpass between Kaiserstraße and Königstraße in Bonn, the mural stands as a colorful symbol of inclusion, resilience, and intercultural dialogue.
The artwork was developed during a three-day graffiti workshop that brought together participants from diverse backgrounds to explore themes of identity, belonging, peace, and community through public art.
Art as a Voice for Integration

A Million Voices uses creative and narrative approaches to support the social inclusion and wellbeing of Ukrainian refugees and local communities across Europe. Throughout the project, participants have engaged in artistic activities that encourage self-expression, storytelling, and connection.
The Bonn graffiti workshop transformed these ideas into a permanent public artwork. Participants worked side-by-side with local artists to develop concepts, learn graffiti techniques, and contribute directly to the final mural design.

A special contribution came from Lithuanian street artist Rolandas Ivanauskas, whose work reflects themes of solidarity and support for Ukrainians building new lives in Germany. Speaking about the project, he highlighted graffiti as a powerful public medium for discussing conflict, peace, and social issues in a way that is accessible to everyone.
A Community Celebration
The unveiling event provided an opportunity for participants and local residents to come together and celebrate the completion of the mural. Visitors explored the artwork and learned from the artists their intentions behind their works.

Leaving a Lasting Mark
The completed mural now serves as a lasting reminder of the values at the heart of A Million Voices: empathy, inclusion, participation, and understanding.
As people pass through the underpass in the years to come, the mural will continue to share these messages and spark conversations about community, belonging, and the power of creative expression.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the workshop, attended the unveiling, and supported the project. Together, we have transformed a public space into a vibrant symbol of connection and hope.
