In October 2025, EUth Wonders and its EUnited project partners: Unofficial Media & Training (UMT), Action Synergy, Asociación Proyecto Cántabro, and Women Elevation Malta (WEM) gathered in Malta for a transnational project meeting (TPM), marking an important milestone in the journey toward fostering inclusion and amplifying the voices of young North African migrants across Europe. Hosted by WEM, this meeting served as both a checkpoint and a collaborative working space, bringing together partners to review progress, test outputs, and plan the next stages of implementation.

The Project Vision

EUnited has been co-designed by its partners with a clear mission:

to promote social inclusion and enhance outreach to young North African migrants in Europe, particularly those facing barriers linked to migration status, as well as racial, ethnic, or religious discrimination. At its core, the project aligns strongly with the priority of “inclusion and diversity in youth.”

Through creative and participatory methods such as PhotoVoice, digital storytelling, and video, EUnited empowers young people to:

  • Develop digital and storytelling competences

  • Share personal experiences of displacement and migration

  • Reflect on challenges of arrival and integration in Europe

This approach not only supports personal processing and self-expression, but also raises awareness of the realities faced by migrant communities.

Key Highlights from the Malta Meeting

The meeting marked the tenth month of the project since its beginning in January 2025 and focused heavily on outlining the timeline for the upcoming activities for the project's PhotoVoice and Digital Storytelling Training. Partners collaborated closely to develop and validate content, as the meeting served as a space for pilot testing and peer review. The discussions at the meeting ensured that the project materials are practical, inclusive, and adaptable for use with young migrants in different national contexts.

Beyond activity planning, the Malta meeting also highlighted several important achievements:

  • A dissemination plan and project branding were successfully developed

  • Social media channels and outreach activities were launched

  • Initial groundwork for participatory video and photography projects was established

  • Preparations began for policy learning and sustainability work

At the same time, partners identified key pending tasks, including the development of impact assessment, risk management, and quality assurance plans.

Looking Ahead

The Malta meeting reinforced the importance of creative storytelling as a tool for inclusion. By placing young migrants at the centre of the narrative, EUnited challenges stereotypes, builds empathy, and creates space for voices that are too often unheard. Through collaboration, innovation, and shared commitment, the partners are building a platform for dialogue, representation, and change across Europe.

The project’s next steps include:

  • Finalising a Facilitator’s Workbook and producing training videos

  • Translating materials into partner languages

  • Launching an online platform to host resources and outputs

  • Piloting the training programme with young North African migrants in each partner country

  • Organising workshops, PhotoVoice projects, and public showcase events

Ultimately, by September/October 2026, the project aims to deliver tangible outcomes, including migrant-led storytelling projects, policy briefs, and engagement with policymakers.

Stay tuned for more updates as EUnited continues to empower young voices and strengthen inclusive communities across borders.
